Fall or Winter?

As fall begins to reappear and winter is just around the corner, I wanted to discuss which season is better: fall or winter.

Fall is the season of transition between the warmth of summer and the cold of winter. Fall is known for its colorful trees, crop harvest and cooler, crisp weather. The trees in this season make people fall in love with this time of year. The charm of the trees comes with the colors changing from bright green to red, orange, brown and yellow. They just are beautiful in every way. Moreover, Fall is also known as the season of pumpkin spice at coffee shops like Starbucks and Caribou. Pumpkin spice is also why people love fall because it only comes once a year during this season. One holiday that happens in fall is Halloween, where every little kid dresses up and goes trick-or-treating, putting smiles on their faces when they receive candy. But the main holiday that happens in the fall is Thanksgiving, a holiday that is about food and expressing gratitude.

However, one of the things that people may not like about fall is the part where the weather changes from hot and warm to cold and breezy. Another reason why people may not like fall is that it is the final approach towards the winter season.

Furthermore, winter is the season that most people do not look forward to because it is known as the coldest season of the year. Another reason as to why people don’t like the winter season is because of the snow and ice. Snow can become very heavy, and it can make it hard for people to walk and drive at times. Ice is also hard when it comes to walking and driving because it can be dangerous since it can make cars slide and crash.

Despite the bad things that the winter season might have, there are also the good things that winter brings. Some of the good that winter has is the cozy vibes of staying inside and watching Christmas movies. Additionally, unique outdoor activities such as sledding, ice-skating and snowboarding provide moments of fun in the crisp cold months. Some other good vibes that winter brings are the warmth of hot drinks such as hot chocolate, coffee and hot tea. The main reason why people love winter so much is the Christmas holiday — a holiday of joy and getting together, giving presents and enjoying time with family and friends.

For me, my favorite season out of the two would have to be fall. The first reason why fall is my favorite season is that my birthday is in the fall. The second reason is that I get to enjoy drinks at Caribou, such as the honey apple crisp energy drink, which tastes like a fresh apple that has just come from a farmer’s market. The final reason why this season is my favorite is because the weather turns a little bit colder and I can wear sweatshirts and sweatpants, allowing shorts can take a pause until the springtime.

Therefore, these reasons have concluded the pros and cons of both seasons and why I believe that fall is better than winter.
