President-elect Donald Trump’s Initial Plans

President-elect Donald Trump’s initial plans include changes to infrastructure, veteran affairs, national defense, health care and more, the policies portion of his campaign website said.

Part of his plan is to “fix our broken mental health system” and to “expand treatment programs, and reform the laws to make it easier to take preventive action to save innocent lives.”

Trump’s education plan would allow parents to choose the schools their children attend, private versus public schools, and will get rid of common core education. Trump also plans to ensure that universities are making efforts to reduce the cost of college and student debt.

With infrastructure, Trump wants to “transform America’s crumbling infrastructure into a golden opportunity for accelerated economic growth and more rapid productivity gains with a deficit-neutral plan targeting substantial new infrastructure investments.”

Trump plans to reform veteran care, allowing veterans to get care where and when it’s needed and eliminate the long drives and wait times many veterans face when looking for treatment.

National defense is in Trump’s initial plans as well. His website said he will “work with congress to fully repeal the defense sequester and submit a new budget to rebuild our depleted military.”

Trump’s cyber-security plan allows for reviewing for vulnerabilities, as well as instructing the U.S. Department of Justice to coordinate federal, state and local law enforcement responses to cyber threats.

Trump plans to revise trade policies and wants to bring more jobs into America and to bring trade cases against China through the World Trade Organization.

Trump plans to decrease the size of government through agency reviews and wants to eliminate overreaching regulations.

The economy plan of the president-elect is to “reform policies with a pro-growth tax plan, a new modern regulatory framework” and “an America-First trade policy.”

Trump’s energy plan includes making “American energy independent, create millions of new jobs and protect clean air and clean water.” He also plans to “conserve our natural habitats, reserves and resources”.
