Soccer gets Blanked at Oral Roberts, 1-0
NDSU AthleticsThe North Dakota State soccer team entered this past week sitting at 3-5-6 overall and 1-2-2 in Summit League play. The herd would open up their road trip by playing in Tulsa, taking on Oral Roberts.
Oral Roberts was undefeated in conference play entering this game with a 3-0-2 conference record and a 9-1-4 overall record. The Golden Eagles would be looking for their 10th win of the season, and the Bison were looking for their fourth.
NDSU has struggled most of the season putting points on the board, and it would continue in this game. Oral Roberts held their own early and broke through with a goal from Brianna Castleberry, who leads the Summit League in goals and points.
This goal would take place in the 32nd minute, and it’s all the Golden Eagles would need. Alyson Sebban, who allows the least amount of goals in the Summit League per game on average, pitched her sixth shutout for Oral Roberts of the season.
Oral Roberts would keep their top spot in the conference standings, and the Bison would drop to seventh in the conference, right ahead of Kansas City who is in last place. The Bison would take on Kansas City on Sunday to try and bounce back.
Following that, the herd will come back home to Fargo and take on the Fighting Hawks of UND for a rivalry matchup. The last two regular season games will be against the Coyotes of South Dakota and the Jackrabbits of South Dakota State.
Less traveling down the stretch of the schedule will give this team some rest from this long road trip to Tulsa and Kansas City. Three of the last four games will be rivalry games for the Bison and momentum builders for the Summit League tournament coming up in November.
