Ice skating may be the perfect Valentine’s Day date.

Sweet treats for the one you love

I hope you are all about treating your significant other on Valentine’s Day. I hope you show them that you love them, whether it is through a simple gesture or an extravagant memory they will cherish forever.

While on the fargomoorhead.org site, there are a few Valentine’s Day activities available for all of the lovebirds out there.

Have you ever been to ‘The Lights,’ in West Fargo? The Lights has an NHL-size ice rink that is hosting an event on Valentine’s Day. There will be a movie, “La La Land,” being shown on the big screen, allowing you to skate with your significant other and watch a good movie at the same time.

There will be bread bites and peanut butter bars available from Spicy Pie, along with beverages available for purchase. Don’t have skates? No need to worry, you can rent skates for $5. To register for this event at The Lights, visit westfargoevents.com.

A couple of weeks ago, I went skating at The Lights ice rink with a few friends. It was super fun, and the big screen is awesome. If you and your significant other like to skate and watch movies, I suggest going. This is the place for you, there is no way you will forget this Valentine’s skate date.

At Rough Cut (ax throwing), they are hosting a social date night, where there is a Valentine’s Bogo Sale. Buy one admission for ax throwing and get one free (use the code: VD21 to redeem).

Although I have never been to Rough Cut, I have seen many of my friend’s Snapchat and Instagram stories showing how much fun they have had at Rough Cut. I believe going to Rough Cut would be quite the little adventure, one I would definitely not forget if I were you.

At Urban 42, there is a Valentine’s Dinner as well as the regular menu options. This is available on Valentine’s Day from 5-10 pm. Who doesn’t like food? More specifically, a cute Valentine’s Dinner? This would be a great option for couples who may just want to go out to eat.

J.C. Chumley’s in Moorhead is hosting The Front Fender’s 25th anniversary, along with a Valentine’s Dance from 8 pm-12 am on February 13th. The Front Fenders play music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s along with new music and some country favorites. With this being said… I am sure you will enjoy this dance.

Maybe you don’t want to go skating, throw axes, eat out or dance, there are so many more options available. If you are looking for a sign to get your significant other something precious this Valentine’s Day, I came up with a few ideas your significant other may like.

I think all girls like gift cards, why not make this even better by choosing gift cards that support local boutiques? MINT + BASIL, KITTSONA, Kindred People, Leela & Lavender and Eco Chic Home are some great local businesses where you can get your girl a gift card.

But what if you don’t want to just get her a gift card? I am sure your love would love some flowers, maybe not even roses, try getting something that is different and uniquely beautiful, something that reminds you of her. Your girl may like jewelry, edible arrangements or even something that has significant or special meaning to you both.

Personally, I think it is harder to shop for men, I feel if you just get them some of their favorite foods, they will be happy. However, try to think outside of the box, be creative.

You can line up an activity that is somewhere in Fargo that you can both do, a cute picture frame with a picture of you together, a key chain or even try checking the Shutterfly website. The Shutterfly website is great for custom ideas.

Make your significant other feel loved this Valentine’s Day. Don’t make it feel like another day of dating, make it extra special. I hope you choose to get Valentine’s gifts or food from a local Fargo-Moorhead business. There are so many options and events listed for you to choose from and enjoy with your love.

Happy Valentine’s Day friends. Thank me later.

Xoxo, Kilee
