Expo to Feature Hundreds of Employers

Employers from Minnesota and North Dakota will be convening on the Fargodome soon.

Students may attend the annual Engineering and Tech Expo for an opportunity to connect with employers to discuss current or future employments, as well as the careers students are searching for.

At last year’s expo, 1,612 students met with 235 employers at the event. This year’s expo currently has 220 employers registered to attend the event.

Employers at the expo look for workers in the fields of biotechnology, agriculture and biosystems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and software engineering, among others.

Employers are looking to hire workers in Minnesota and North Dakota, as well as in other states if students would rather work outside the region.

Positions available at the expo include full-time, internship and summer employment opportunities.

Students may also attend a student and employer social.

Employers attending the social include Target, Vascular Solutions, John Deere, Bachman’s Floral, UTC Aerospace Systems and others.

To attend the social, students must pick up one of 200 wristbands available at the Career Center in Ceres Hall. Wristbands are only needed for the social and not the expo.

Students attending both events should dress professionally.

The social will occur from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 in McGovern Alumni Center.

The Engineering and Technology Expo will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 in the Fargodome.
