NDSU Fan Storms the Field at Baseball Home Opener Getting Tackled by Game Security

North Dakota State’s home opener baseball game goes viral after a die-hard alumni fan runs out onto the field, being tackled and escorted out of the game by security. The game received immediate attention online and has even been picked up by major sports media outlets like Barstool Sports and Overtime.

It was the beginning of the fourth inning with the Bison up 3-1 against the school’s biggest rival, South Dakota State. Although it was a big game, it was reported to have been quiet on the crowd side with nothing being too crazy. This was odd for the school, as the Bison have always been known for their committed fans.

Not too long, the North Dakota State alumnus, Jaxon Blitz, a 50-year-old major fan of NDSU athletics, especially baseball, decided to strike an appearance. He has season tickets and has been known for attending every single home game for the team for the past six years. Blitz claimed the crowd had been quiet and wanted to shake things up.

First attending the university in 1994, Blitz graduated with the class of 1998 with his bachelor’s in construction management. He then went back to get his master’s degree in the same field, graduating in 2002. Loving NDSU so much, Blitz served as a project manager for multiple new campus buildings and tunnel services for students.

“I love the team and all the school spirit, but nobody was doing anything; it was a tough crowd. With this being a big game, I had to do something to bring attention to it.” Blitz said

This led blitz to make the quick decision to jump out of the stands and run out onto the field. Making it to just around center field, Blitz was then tackled by two security guards, and he was then taken out of the game, which resulted in a brief delay.

However, the moment did not go unnoticed. Another fan at the game had taken a video of this, with Blitz now currently trending all over TikTok with over 10 million views. This has brought major attention to the North Dakota State baseball team, with tickets to the next game being sold out.

What was first intended to be a funny way to energize and engage with the crowd became a situation that resulted in severe consequences. Blitz is now banned from the Newman Outdoor Field. Authorities have indicated that if spotted in the area, he could face serious legal charges.
