Championship Games Approach for NDSU Intramural Basketball

Intramural basketball at North Dakota State is near its end, with the championship games on the way. After weeks of hard work and competition, the women’s and men’s fraternity and CoRec divisions are wrapping up their seasons and preparing for their final matchups, hoping to take home the championship title.

The women’s intramural basketball teams had a small but competitive pool this season, with six teams participating overall.

To kick off the women’s playoff tournament, the first round, the Swish Kebabs played the Fighting Koalas at the wellness center, with the Swish Kebabs taking a close 46-39 win. The Air Ballers Anonymous played the Kappa Dunks with a game score of 41-16, with the Air Ballers Anonymous coming out on top.

The Bench Warmers also had an impressive regular season, finishing undefeated at 4-0. This record helped secure them the top seed with a first-round bye in the playoffs. The team secured their spot to play for the championship game with a 48-40 win against the Swish Kebabs in the semifinal round.

The Class B Baddies and Air Ballers Anonymous each ended their regular seasons with a 3-1 record. Both teams were competitive throughout the season, making them strong contenders in the tournament. The teams played each other in the semifinal round, with the Class B baddies coming out on top with a 63-33 win, with the Swish Kebabs ending their season with a 2-4 record.

The Bench Warmers and Class B Baddies will compete for the championship this week at the SHAC. Earlier this season, the teams played a competitive game, with the Bench Warmers taking the win of 47-40. This is expected to be a tight rematch with the Class B Baddies taking on their biggest competitors and the Bench Warmers hoping to finish out their undefeated season.

The men’s division also nears its way to the championship with multiple undefeated teams in several brackets. Standout teams this season were the BBB with a 6-0 season record, as well as the Baked Potatoes with a 6-1 record.

The fraternity intramural division consisted of 14 teams throughout the regular season. Standout teams in this league were the ATO ballers with a 6-0 record, as well as Theta Chi A being close behind them, with a 5-1 record.

The CoRec division also had a competitive season with three teams having a 4-1 record. The Mystery Inc, Average Joes and White Lightning have all played consistently and competitively throughout the season.
