Embrace the chill this winter by flexing your skating abilities.

There are many opportunities in the Fargo-Moorhead area for open skating, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned veteran.

Fargo

Fargo offers a myriad of free, public outdoor skating rinks this season. All outdoor rinks are open 3:30-8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 12-8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month of February.

The parks participating in outdoor skating rinks are as follows: Bennett Park, Brunsdale Park, Centennial Park, Clara Barton Park, Downtown on Ice, Horace Mann Park, Jefferson Park, Kennedy Park, Lemke Park, Lewis & Clark Park, Lincoln Park, Longfellow Park, Madison Park, McKinley Park, Roosevelt Park, Village West Park with Dog Park, Washington Park and Westgate Park.

Please bring your own skates as there are no rentals available.

West Fargo

The West Fargo Park District offers open outdoor ice-skating at Elmwood, Maplewood and Rendezvous Parks every day of the week.

The warming house is open 4-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10-8 p.m. Saturdays and 12-8 p.m. Sundays. Free and open to the public.

Moorhead

Not willing to venture outside? Every 2:15-4:15 p.m. Sunday, the Moorhead Sports Center will host open indoor skating throughout the month of February.

Charge is $1.50 for college students and they have limited skate rental for an additional $1.
