As promised by the artist himself, 28-year-old Zach Bryan has released a new song called “Dear Miss.” This emotional new tune was teased back in 2024 and fans have been long awaiting its release. With the Philadelphia Eagles winning Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, “Dear Miss” was shared with the world on Tuesday, Feb. 11th. This song is considered a single and has not yet been placed on an album.
Verse 1
There’s a letter to your mother that is hidden is my desk
That I wrote to her in a sober mind
It’s my apology for all the things I used to be
And swearin’ I’ll change over time
She might not believe me ’cause no one ever does
Except her daughter that loves me true
God forbid all it takes for a boy to finally wait
Just to be cherished and loved all the way through
The song starts out with an electric guitar riff and hard-hitting drum rhythm to make the new song distinctive. Once the vocals begin, you will hear the protagonist’s tone of remorse towards his assumed love’s mother. The first verse of this new tune is a build-up of emotions while still seeming like the lyrics could be from a letter or conversation.
“So dear Miss, by the time you see this
It’ll be in love or it’ll be in pain
May God bless and keep us
May you think kind of my name”
A plea for acceptance with sincerity and acknowledgment of their mistakes. This song is not far off from Bryan’s other music relating to freedom, the regret of his messy past, and taking ownership of his actions. It is left open-ended with the protagonist’s vulnerable self confessing his feelings.
This new single is available to listening to on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music now.
