What to do in Fargo This Fall

As autumn’s vibrant hues blanket Fargo, the city welcomes a variety of exciting fall events and activities for residents and visitors. While the calendar typically ramps up in October, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the season’s beauty and engage in community festivities. 

Farmer’s Market Fun 

The region’s largest farmer’s market will continue through October. Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Red River Market at Broadway Square, 213 Broadway N., invites locals to explore a diverse selection of seasonal produce and artisanal goods. Attendees can stroll through vibrant stalls while listening to live music and sipping on craft beer. The market provides a chance to connect with the community and gather fresh ingredients for fall recipes. 

Fall Family Fun at Lil Bitz 

For families looking for outdoor activities, Lil Bitz offers attractions sure to delight. With over 25 activities included in the $15 gate admission, visitors can enjoy horse carriage rides, navigate a corn maze and take part in barrel rides. Open from Sept. 14 through Oct. 27, Lil Bitz promises a 

fun-filled day for all ages. Located at 7414 40th Ave. N., it’s an ideal spot for creating lasting memories with loved ones. 

Lost in the Valley Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch 

For those seeking a classic fall experience, the Lost in the Valley Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds is a must-visit. Open Fridays through Sundays from Sept. 22 to Oct. 29, this corn maze offers a thrilling adventure for all ages. Tickets are available now. 

The hours are Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit the maze at 1805 Main Ave. W., West Fargo, or call 701-282-2200 for more information. 

The Great Straw Maze and Pumpkin Patch 

Located outside West Acres Mall, the Great Straw Maze invites visitors to navigate through a fun-filled maze. Open from Aug. 30 to Oct. 31, this attraction offers a unique experience, with spooky enhancements in the evenings throughout October. The maze is open Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

NDSU Fall Events 

NDSU will host several fall events for students: 

October Pajama Jam: “Fantastic Mr. Fox” 

A screening of Fantastic Mr. Fox will be held Monday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Hidatsa Memorial Union.

Halloween Escape Room 

The Halloween Escape Room will take place Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Oceti Sakowin Ballroom. 

Boo! at NDSU 

A free carnival and trick-or-treating event will be held Thursday, Oct. 24 at 5:30 p.m. at Cater, Seim, Sevrinson, and Thompson halls. 

Halloween Improv Show 

The TBD Improv Show will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. in the Prairie Rose Room. 

Cost-Free Fall Activities 

Fargo also offers many free ways to enjoy the season: 

Nature Walks: Explore trails at Island Park or Lindenwood Park for beautiful views of changing leaves and peaceful walking paths. 

Fall Foliage Viewing: Take a drive or walk through Fargo’s Historic District or the NDSU campus to enjoy the season’s colors.
