Getting sick of your everyday hair? Personally, I find myself having the urge to change my hair often.
Dying your hair or getting it done can often be bad for it in the long run. You may experience thinning or breakage from applying too much heat. Instead of using a curler or straight iron every morning, there are many ways to style your hair to give yourself a different look.
These looks do not use heat, so you can count on them to keep your hair happy and healthy.
Colored shampoo
This is one of the easiest ways to change your hair color without having to make a trip to the salon.
The trend started with purple shampoo, which is great for blondes who are looking to go platinum or add a tint of silver to their hair. Purple shampoo is also great for making sure your blonde doesn’t get brassy or yellow.
Now, you can get multiple colored shampoos such as blue and rose gold. Using these will add a subtle hint of the color to your hair. All you have to do is use it a couple times a week like normal shampoo. The longer you let it soak in, the more pigmented it will be.
Change up your part
This may seem so simple, but trust me — people will notice. If you normally part your hair to the right, try parting to the left when you get out of the shower and your hair is still wet. This will make your hair look fuller and give you a “fake” cowlick.
Another part to try is straight down the middle. This style has grown in popularity in the last few months and gives off a free spirit vibe, which is perfect for spring.
Slicked pony or bun
Whether you are going out on a Saturday night or in a rush to get to class, this look will save the day for both situations.
If you want to try a low pony or bun, brush your hair slickly to your head then secure tightly low on your head. Use hairspray to tame flyaway hairs.
For a high bun or pony, I like to lie on my back with my hair hanging off my bed, brush it so it is smooth then secure it tightly to the top of my head. Lying down will help you secure all hairs and make sure the final look is even.
This hairstyle looks great with statement earrings or bold lipstick.
Try a faux bob
Have you thought about chopping your hair, but are unsure how it will look on you? This hairstyle is the answer.
Pull your hair together at the nape of your neck and secure with a hair tie near the ends. Tuck them under and pin into place. Pull hair until it looks like you have a loose bob.
This style looks best when you are dressing up for a special occasion.
Clip-in bangs
Bangs can be a lot of work, and once you cut them, they take a while to grow out. If you have been wanting to try this style, you can purchase clip-in bangs. This is great because you can get the look of bangs without all the work.
Many salons offer customizable clip-in bangs for a natural look. Anywhere that offers extensions usually offers clip-in bangs.
Sea salt spray
Go for a beachy look by using sea salt spray when you are fresh out of the shower. Do not brush your hair after showering for an even more textured look.
You can find sea salt spray or beach spray at places such as Target, CVS or Walmart.
Simply spray sections of your hair, scrunch the ends using your hands, then let it air dry. Not only does it smell like summer, but you will also look like you just came from the beach all day.
