Here at NDSU I have come to the realization that research and technology are both very important and have such a huge affect on the college and different departments throughout the college. Research studies have never been something I have had a ton of interest in but ever since I have been required to create a couple of them for different class I have gained a new respect for the work that gets put into each research project.

I also have noticed how present research and technology are in departments other than science, which is normally the department, that people associate research with. The studies done in the psychology department and communications department have outcomes that are so important in the studies of life and how certain things cause interactions. Science is a great field of study, but the connections that are made to science from communication and other departments are incredible.

Not only do the research programs create wonderful connections at this university, but they have also caused advances in technology and connections with new technologies, which then creates a new level of research. The effects that these programs have on the learning process of students here at North Dakota State University are never ending and have added a whole new level to the capabilities of the university.

I think that the research and technologies departments at universities are the most important departments that the university can offer. I believe this because the advances that are made have a direct effect on student’s futures and the technologies that are being used. This is important because the students then have a fresh and educated knowledge of all of the resources that are available to them. They understand the capabilities contained in simple (or complicated) research and how it can be used to their advantage.
