NDSU men’s golf finishes third at TPC – Colorado

The North Dakota State University men’s golf team earned a third-place finish at the TPC Colorado at Heron Lakes tournament in Berthoud, Colo.

The Herd is continuing their dominant showing in the fall half of the 2022-23 season. NDSU has earned a Top-3 finish in all but one event this fall.

The Bison shot a six-under-par 858 in the three-round tournament. The team shot the best round of any team with a 15-under 273 in the final round. The finish advanced the Herd up two spots in the leaderboard.

Gavin Cronkhite and Ian Simonich led the team with five-under 211s for third place tie. Cronkhite had an immaculate third-round six-under-par 66, which boosted him ten spots on the leaderboard. The junior, Cronkhite, was one-over through the first two rounds.

Simonich shot a pair of four-under 68s in the final two rounds of the tournament. An opening round three-over-par 75 hindered the junior’s score from a higher spot on the leaderboard.

Junior Nate Adams tied for 16th place with a four-over-par 220. Adams’ best round came in the final; he shot a three-under 69 to close out his tournament. Adams shot a 75 and 76 in the opening two rounds.

Brock Winter, a junior, tied for 24th with a six-under-par 222. Winter started his tournament with a one-over 73 in the first round, but a seven-over 79 set him back on the leaderboard. Winter finished strong with a two-under 70 to close.

Nate Deziel finished in a tie for 36th with a nine-over 225. The senior ended his tournament with a pair of one-over 73s. Deziel got off to a slow start in the tournament with a seven-over-par 79 in the first round. On October 23rd, the Bison will play in their final tournament of the fall at the ODU Kilmarlic Tournament at Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powells Point, N.C.
