Last Saturday, April 21, downtown Fargo legacy, Red River Market partnered with Prairie Roots Food Co-op to host their Spring Market.
The Spring Market was a preview to their upcoming season starting this July.
This market featured live music and all of their regular vendors such as Flannel Fizz, Jen’s Bakery, 2oBelow Coffee and Lost in Fargo.
But what made this market special was the partnership with Prairie Roots Food Co-op. New to the F-M area, Prairie Roots just opened last summer and are located on the corner of NP Avenue and University Drive. As part of their history featured on their website, the people at Prairie Roots state, “We leaned heavily on our prairie self-reliance to bring a food co-op to downtown Fargo.”
As part of their commitment to the community, they also comment, “We are dedicated to enhancing our community by providing access to natural, organic, and locally produced food. With Fargo as the backdrop and a solid base of community ownership we look forward to providing a treasured, communal gathering spot.”
This is a commitment shared with the Red River Market.
Bringing the Red River Market and Prairie Roots together to celebrate the end of Fargo’s seemingly never-ending winter was the perfect way to kick off the spring and summer season.
The Red River Market’s 2018 season runs from July 14 to October 27 and can be found in the heart of downtown on Broadway and 4th Avenue every Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
