Local Music and Art Events Hosted at the Parachigo

Looking for a place to find new music, enjoy some art or meet new people at fun events? The Parachigo, located in their new venue in downtown Fargo at 14 8th St. S., is an all-ages venue that provides all of these. The Parachigo is well known for being a venue where many North Dakotan and Minnesotan bands, like Helko Spillovey, Moo Boots, Tomb Psychology, Mary Jams and others can play and grow their music fan bases. They also have events with DJs, themed raves, an upcoming “Goth Night” in March and a “Punk Prom” on the 14th. If live music isn’t quite your thing, the Parachigo hosts many art events.

The Parachigo is also known as a venue for local artists to share and sell their works. They host art fairs where artists can set up booths to display their pieces that are for sale and allow them to gain exposure to new customers. They also host events where artists can come to the venue and teach people their craft. There are a few of these events coming up in late February such as making mandalas on wood and vessel making. There is also an event at the West Acres Mall at the LUSH store which involves making a bath bomb.

Outside of music and art, other events that are held at the Parachigo are a monthly “T4Tea” transgender support group, a free monthly garment club for different projects like crocheting and sewing, occasional watch parties of different media, and different nights surrounded by the topic of fashion. The Parachigo will be hosting a “College Night” on Tuesday, Feb. 25th at 6:30 p.m. with an entry fee of $5.
