New edition releases just in time for the film release
With the upcoming theatrical release of “Star Wars the Rise of Skywalker” on Dec. 20, EA and Dice have broadcasted a brand new edition to “Star Wars Battlefront II” in the form of new locations, ships, heroes and appearances.
The “Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition” launched Dec. 5 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. “The Rise of Skywalker,” part of the DLC, will launch Dec. 17 with a bunch of new content.
The price for the “Celebration Edition” will be $40. This includes the base “Battlefront II” game, the DLC as well as all customizable items in-game to date. Owners of “Battlefront II” can purchase the “Celebration Edition” for $25.
The content coming with the “Celebration Edition” includes:
- The base game along with all past and future updates
- More than 25 hero appearances
- More than 125 trooper and reinforcement appearances
- More than 100 hero and trooper emotes and voice lines
- More than 70 hero and trooper victory poses
The content coming with the “Rise of Skywalker” update contains a brand new Jungle map that was seen in the “Rise of Skywalker’s” latest trailer, four additional reinforcements units for the First Order and the Resistance, new exciting hero appearances, more sequel era maps like Jakku and Starkiller Base plus a lot more.
There is also more content planned to release sometime in January. This new content being two new capital ships and more heroes to help in the fight.
Specifically, the Resistance’s MC85 Mon Calamari capital ship and the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer for the First Order will be added to the Capital Supremacy combat mode.
The two new intrepid heroes are droids. These new heroes are the resistance’s rolling ball of fun, BB-8, and the First Order’s BB-9E. Both will be playable heroes in January.
More updates for “Star Wars Battlefront II” are on the way with more information coming in early 2020.
