NDSU’s Crosa named MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week

North Dakota State placekicker Griffin Crosa was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week by the league office Sunday, Sept. 25.


Crosa, a junior from Dublin, Ohio, kicked two field goals and four extra points in North Dakota State’s 34-17 win at South Dakota. His make from 26 yards tied the game in the second quarter and his second attempt from 25 yards gave NDSU its first two-possession lead with 8:27 left in the game.

The first two field goals of the season for North Dakota State were also the first for Crosa since the 2020-21 spring season after redshirting last year. He has made 43 consecutive PAT kicks dating back to 2019.

It is the second career player of the week honor for Crosa.

Houston paces NDSU women at Roy Griak Invitational

Bison junior Kaleesa Houston led the North Dakota State women’s cross-country team at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning, taking 58th place overall.

Houston finished in 22:00.6 for the six-kilometer race – her best time ever at the Griak, and the earliest in a season that she has ever clocked 22 minutes or under for the 6k.

The Bison women came in 13th in the team standings and were the No. 2 team from The Summit League. Behind Houston, NDSU sophomore Grace Link was 80th in 22:20.0, and sophomore Allie Wahlund took 91st in 22:31.7.

Keiser, Arason lead BIson men to big improvement over previous year at Roy Griak Invitational

The North Dakota State men’s cross-country team posted a strong performance at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning, making a significant leap in the team standings over their placing one year ago.

The Bison men raced to an 11th-place team finish at a rainy Les Bolstad Golf Course, improving 10 spots in the team standings from last season. Sophomore Symon Keiser led NDSU in 58th place overall, clocking a personal-best 25:17.2 for the eight-kilometer course.

Mauch named MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week for the second time

North Dakota State left tackle Cody Mauch was named Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week by the league office Monday, Sept. 26.

Mauch, a senior from Hankinson, N.D., led a strong rushing performance in North Dakota State’s 34-17 road win over South Dakota with no sacks, quarterback hurries or tackles for loss allowed. He graded out at 93% with 25 physicality points.

North Dakota State kept the ball on the ground for 61 of its 80 plays and rushed for a season-high 356 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 5.8 yards per carry. NDSU rushed for 200 yards and scored 24 unanswered points after halftime.

This is Mauch’s second career player of the week award. He was honored after this year’s season-opening win over Drake.
