Bison Men Split Road Trip

at Kansas City (2/6)

The (5-4) Bison basketball team headed into Kansas City (2-7) in a must-win situation. The Bison entered this game as the 4th all-time team in Bison history in three-pointers made as a team. The record is 332, and the Bison are sitting at 290 at the moment. They are well on pace to break that record, but the focus is winning. Kansas City led 13-12 after the game’s first six minutes. The rest of the half was all NDSU. The Bison went on a 25-17 run until halftime, leading 37-30 heading into the locker room. Jackson Moni and Jacari White also combined for 17 points in the first half.

The second half was back and forth, and the Bison maintained their lead and kept it a ten-point game for most of the second half until some late scoring from Kansas City made it a closer game. The Bison would eventually pull this one out, winning 78-72 and improve to 6-4 in Summit League play. This would sit them in fourth place, heading into their huge matchup with the number one team at the conference, Omaha, on Saturday. Jackson Moni paved the way like he has all year, with 24 points in 35 minutes played. Noah Feddersen had one of his best games of the 2024-2025 season: he scored 17 points going 8-8 from the field, along with a team-leading 10 rebounds. Jacari White scored 15 points, going three for five from the three-point line. Overall, it was a pretty steady game, and it was good to get back in the win column heading into Saturday.

at Omaha (2/8)

The (6-4) Bison were heading to Omaha for the second game of their two-game road trip at Omaha. Omaha was 9-1 and in first place heading into this game. The Bison were up by one just five minutes into the game, up 13-12 before Omaha went on an 18-5 run over the next six minutes to make it 30-18 Omaha. The Bison would crawl back into it, getting it to a four-point game at the half, 41-37. A free throw and a good three-pointer from Masen Miller would be all the Bison would get for the first six minutes of the second half, and Omaha took advantage. Omaha took a 54-43 lead with 14 minutes remaining. The next ten minutes would be pretty even as the Bison would cut it down to a nine-point lead for Omaha in a 69-60 score. Jacari White would hit a jumper, followed by two three-pointers from Jackson Moni to cut it down to one. Omaha responded with a 9-3 run to pretty much end it.

78-69 was the score with one minute left, and it was too much for the Bison to handle. They fell 85-74 and dropped to 6-5 on the season, and Omaha would improve to 10-1. The Bison would fall to the fifth seed after South Dakota took down Oral Roberts on Saturday in a nail-biting 75-74 win. The Bison returned to the SHAC Thursday to take on (2-7) Oral Roberts, followed by a home game with Denver, which is (2-9).
