Season 7 set to release on Disney+ in February

After nearly six years, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will be making a comeback with Season 7, which should hopefully wrap up the television show created by Lucasfilm and directed by Dave Filoni.

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” first aired on Oct 3, 2008, and ran up to March 7, 2014. The show took place in the three years between “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones” and “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.”

The show was unique because it gave insight into what life was like for politicians, Jedi, the Separatists, other factions and, most importantly, the show revealed the horrors of war the clone troopers had to endure.

The variation of perspectives along with the epic battles and scenarios the characters found themselves in made “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” a fantastic addition to Star Wars lore and was not too kind with the more brutal stories it had to tell.

Sadly, after Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012, the show was canceled soon after. Even with a few more seasons left to come out, the end of the show was going to come with the last episode of Season 6.

This was rather unfortunate, as Filoni and his crew had already created many of the animations for the following seasons. Fortunately, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” was not to end with the many loose ends it had with the conclusion of Season 6.

In 2018, a teaser trailer for Season 7 was dropped by Disney to get fans ready for a real conclusion to the story. This trailer contained bits and pieces of the soon-to-be Season 7 and showed some of the new characters and locations that would be featured.

Season 7 has been under the direct supervision of Dave Filoni, which means it will have the same style that made “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” what it is.

Now, after another two years, the show will finally get the end it deserves. On Feb 21, 2020, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” Season 7 will begin airing on Disney+ (Disney’s streaming service).

Disney has said there will be twelve episodes. Unlike Netflix, the season will not be coming out all at once but once a week, similar to Disney’s “The Mandalorian.”

“Star Wars: The Clone Wars” is one of many television series that was forced to end early. It is a great thing to know the series will soon have a real ending. It is even better to know the show’s finale will be in the same capable hands that created it.
