North Dakota State’s Women’s Golf ended the fall half of the season at the Kapolei Golf Course in Kapolei, Hawaii. The Bison finished in seventh place out of 15 schools at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational hosted by The University of Hawaii. NDSU sent nine total golfers to the Aloha State, with five golfers representing the team and four independents.
NDSU finished the three-round tournament with a score of 869 (+5). Leading the Bison in the standings was Norah Roberts, who had a bounce-back performance. Roberts finished tied for 14th, shooting 213(-3) total. In the first round, she shot one over at 73. In the second round, she shot even at 72. And in the final round, she’d tie for the lowest score with a 68(-4). Behind her was Avery Bartels, who finished tied for 20th. Bartles shot 215(-1) overall with a score of 73(+1) in the first round, an even 72 in the second, and finished with a 70(-2) to wrap her outstanding performance up. Third in the NDSU team rankings was Hannah Dunk. Dunk finished tied for 32nd overall with a score of 219(+3). Dunk shot a 76(+4) in the opening round, a team-low 69(-3) in round two, and finished the tournament with a 74(+2). Elise Hoven finished fourth for NDSU and tied for 42nd overall. Hoven finished with a score of 222(+6). In the first round, she shot a 73(+1). In round two, she shot a 75(+3), and to finish her fall season, she shot a 73(+2). The final Bison representing the NDSU team was Madi Hicks, who finished tied for 62nd overall with her score of 228(+12). Hicks’s first round saw her shoot 78(+6). Then, she matched her score in the final two rounds, where she shot a 75(+3).
As previously stated, North Dakota State also sent four independent golfers to Hawaii. Cora Larson led these four women with a score of 227(+11). Larson finished tied for 58th overall. In the first round, she shot a 74(+2), followed this up with a 77(+5), and then ended her tournament with a 76(+4). Anna Huettl would finish one stroke behind Larson as well as tying Madi Hicks with a score of 228(+12) to finish tied for 62nd. Huettl shot one over with a 73 in the first round, a 77(+5) in round two, and a 78(+6) in the closing round. Lily Vincelli finished 77th overall in the tournament with a score of 233(+17). Vincelli shot 77(+5) in the first round, 76(+4) in the second, and shot 80(+8) in the final round. The final Bison on the scoreboard was Jo Barancyzk. She shot 239(+23) to finish 87th overall. Barancyzk shot 79(+7) in the first round, 81(+9) in the second round and finished the tournament with a 79(+7),
This marks the end of the first half of the season for the Bison. They have had a strong opening half and will begin the spring half of the season next year in February at the Mountain Classic hosted by Wyoming in Palm Desert, California.
