Last Week in Student Government

Student government convened Sept. 18 at its weekly meeting. Senators appointed two new senators to ASA commission, being senator Dominic Fettig and Jacob Johnson, who represent the College of Science and Mathematics and Off Campus students, respectively.

Nick Reitan, student government’s executive commissioner of public relations, was also appointed to the Campus Attractions Appointments Committee.

Senators Asif Arshid and Klarissa Walvatne were appointed to the Student Fee Advisory Board. They represent graduate studies and the College of Agriculture, respectively.

The first senate bill of the school year was also introduced in Sunday’s meeting.

The bill, if enacted, will limit student government from adding to or subtracting from a Tier I organization’s budget by 2.5 percent.

The bill was submitted by Mason Wenzel, executive commissioner of finance, Landon Holmquist, assistant executive commissioner of finance, Spencer Moir, student body president, Reitan, and senators Brendan Curran, Kendrick Rummel and Derek Hatzenbuhler.

The budget for Associate of Computer Machinery was approved in the meeting as well. The group needed funding approved at the meeting because it tried to get into budgeting meetings and were able to because of the small amount of slots available.
